Job Description

As a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse), you will support the operations of the Plasma Center under the guidance of the Center Manager and Physician. Your responsibilities will include the following:

• Determine donor eligibility; manage informed consent, AIDS education, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
• Evaluate donor reactions that occur at the facility and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including development of Center Physician’s standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
• Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs when findings require medical or technical guidance concerning donor safety and eligibility.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER, referencing EHS guidance.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist with investigations of local pandemic threats within the community.
• Assist with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) support per BioLife Medical Affairs guidance.

Compensation and Benefits

U.S. hourly wage range: $24.32 – $33.44. Benefits include medical/dental coverage, paid time off, retirement benefits, and other standard benefits such as short‑term and long‑term disability coverage, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, well‑being benefits, sick leave, and paid vacation.
