Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts (LPHA) reviewer to authorize Integrated Assessment and Treatment Plans (IATP) under supervision. You will review documents, provide clinical guidance to team members, and ensure compliance with IATP standards, including crisis evaluation and intervention as needed.

The LPHA reviewer acts within Medicaid Community-Based Mental Health Services Rule 140, supports diagnoses and treatment planning, and may supervise students or staff

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in a behavioral health setting.
• Ability to apply critical thinking and problem-solving to client situations.
• Ability to assess and diagnose, develop treatment plans, and communicate effectively.
• Recognize signs of suicidal behavior, assess lethality, and respond appropriately.

Responsibilities

• Serves as the LPHA for Integrated Assessment and Treatment Plan (IATP) and ensures compliance with regulations/best practices.
• Provides clinical feedback to clinicians to support medical necessity and diagnosis.
• Ensures appropriate treatment recommendations and completes risk assessment and safety planning steps.
• Completes required screening/assessment tools and documents outcomes for treatment planning.
• Performs diagnostic assessments and determines immediate treatment plan needs with patients.
• Requests medical consultation when indicated.
• Develops treatment plans with patient goals linked to identified needs.
• Provides behavioral health therapy to individuals, families, and/or groups.
• Coordinates with Emergency Response Service and crisis teams for high-risk clients.
• Maintains records per policy and oversight requirements (Joint Commission, Medicaid, etc.).
• Acts as liaison between community and patient needs; coordinates with community agencies, primary care, court system, and managed-care entities.
• May supervise Carle Health clinicians and students in the department.
• Participates in in-service and competency training; prepares reports as needed.
• Meets clinical productivity and documentation standards.
