Job summary

Keystone Cooperative in Indiana is seeking an outside propane sales representative to manage residential, commercial and farm accounts from first contact to delivery. You will drive safely, schedule tank services and provide excellent customer support.

Responsibilities include prospecting to grow the customer base, preparing records per regulations, and supporting the Energy department as needed. A valid CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements is required.

Qualifications

• CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements required or able to obtain.
• Proficient computer skills for records and communication.
• Clear verbal and written communication abilities.
• Detail oriented with strong prioritization skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver propane to residential, commercial and farm customers in a timely, safe manner.
• Provide exceptional customer service and relay service information.
• Build and expand the customer base through prospecting and cold calls.
• Prepare and maintain records per regulations and company procedures.
• Operate truck safely and perform installation/removal as needed.
• Back up Energy department duties as required.

Position Overview

The key responsibilities of this position are outside sales of propane gas to residential, commercial and farm accounts from initial contact through to delivery, which may include tank setting and service.

Duties And Responsibilities

Include but are not limited to

• Deliver propane to customer locations in an efficient, punctual and safe manner
• During daily interaction with customers, provide exceptional customer service by supplying service information and answering inquires
• Build customer base within sales territory by utilizing various sales techniques, including prospecting (cold calls)
• Prepare and maintain records in accordance with regulations and company procedures
• Operate truck in accordance to established safety procedures
• Perform installation, removal and service as needed
• Provide back up to Energy department as needed

Skills And Qualifications

• Acceptable driving record and able to obtain Class A or B CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements
• Proficient computer skills
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills
• Detail oriented and ability to prioritize

Education And Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Outside sales experience and territory knowledge is a plus

Physical Requirements

• Ability to walk 1 to 5 miles, climb steps/ ladders and lift up to 75lbs
• Bending and climbing in and out of the truck
