Job summary

Keystone Cooperative is seeking an outside propane sales professional to service residential, commercial and farm accounts across Indiana. The role includes delivering propane, maintaining safety standards, and building a strong customer base through proactive prospecting and excellent service.

You will need a CDL with hazmat and tanker endorsements (or ability to obtain quickly), plus strong communication and computer skills. High school diploma required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; outside sales experience a plus.
• Class A or B CDL with hazmat and tanker endorsements or ability to obtain quickly after hire.
• Strong communication, computer skills, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Deliver propane to customer locations safely and on schedule.
• Provide exceptional service and respond to customer inquiries.
• Grow the sales territory through prospecting and cold calls.
• Maintain records per regulations and company procedures.
• Operate truck following safety procedures and assist with installation/service as needed.
• Back up Energy department as required.

Position Overview: The key responsibilities of this position are outside sales of propane gas to residential, commercial and farm accounts from initial contact through to delivery, which may include tank setting and service.

Duties And Responsibilities

Include but are not limited to

• Deliver propane to customer locations in an efficient, punctual and safe manner
• During daily interaction with customers, provide exceptional customer service by supplying service information and answering inquires
• Build customer base within sales territory by utilizing various sales techniques, including prospecting (cold calls)
• Prepare and maintain records in accordance with regulations and company procedures
• Operate truck in accordance to established safety procedures
• Perform installation, removal and service as needed
• Provide back up to Energy department as needed

Skills And Qualifications

• Acceptable driving record
• Class A or B CDL
• Hazmat and Tanker endorsements or ability to get quickly upon hire
• Proficient computer skills
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills
• Detail oriented and ability to prioritize

Education And Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Outside sales experience and territory knowledge is a plus

Physical Requirements

• Ability to walk 1 to 5 miles, climb steps/ ladders and lift up to 75lbs
• Bending and climbing in and out of the truck
