Job summary

Carney, Sandoe & Associates is looking for a Lower School Spanish Teacher to start immediately in Hoboken, New Jersey. The role includes teaching Spanish to Pre-K3 through Grade 4 and designing a developmentally appropriate curriculum.

Ideal candidates hold a bachelor’s degree in Spanish or Education, fluency in Spanish, and at least three years of lower school teaching experience. A master’s degree is preferred; no teaching license is required.

Qualifications

• Fluent in Spanish required and strong communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Spanish or Education or related field.
• Master’s degree preferred for higher qualification.
• Excellent organizational and classroom management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Teach several Spanish courses for students in grades Pre-K3 through Grade 4.
• Design and implement Spanish curriculum for lower school students.
• Conduct research on teaching methods and language games for in-class use.
• Create an immersive classroom environment to support authentic language acquisition.
• Monitor student progress through reports and grading assessments.
• Coordinate feedback sessions with students and parents as applicable.
• Identify students needing extra support and coordinate intervention sessions.
• Participate in professional development to stay current with best practices.
