Job summary

Easterseals Florida in Valrico is seeking an Exceptional Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year, serving Kindergarten–2nd grade students in a play-based, DIRFloortime framework. The role emphasizes inclusive education for neurodiverse children and requires a Bachelor's degree and ESE training.

Qualifications

• Florida Teaching Certificate eligibility required; ESE licensure preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cultivate a positive educational climate for students with disabilities, fostering respect and rapport.
• Design and implement instruction, accommodations, and support aligned with standards and student needs.
• Observe and evaluate student performance, monitor assessments, and maintain grades and attendance records.
• Oversee teacher assistant and maintain confidential records, inquiries, and FTE documentation.
• Communicate with parents and school staff regarding student progress and involve families.

A snapshot of what you'll do during summer camp and throughout the school year:

• Cultivate a positive educational climate for students with disabilities, fostering an atmosphere of respect and rapport

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor's Degree or higher and formal training in Exceptional Student Education
• Florida Professional Educator Certificate in Exceptional Student Education preferred, eligibility for Florida Teaching Certificate required
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with children, parents, and team members
