Job summary

Norris Asphalt Paving Co. is hiring a Lowboy Truck Driver to transport construction materials and equipment from our Ottumwa, IA facilities. You will load equipment, perform inspections, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance on every trip.

The role requires a Class A CDL with hazmat and tanker endorsements, and at least 1 year of relevant experience. Occasional overnight stays may be needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to load/unload equipment and perform inspections.

Responsibilities

Job Description

The Lowboy Truck Driver is responsible for operating a truck and trailer for transportation of construction material and equipment. This driver will load construction equipment, including front end loaders, crushing equipment, fuel tanks, dozer, portable asphalt plants, etc., onto trailer and transport to various construction and quarry locations. Must have a working knowledge of required documentation for compliance with IDOT guidelines. This is a skilled position involving the safe and efficient operation of equipment and trucks.

The Lowboy Truck Driver will perform daily pre/post trip inspections. Must maintain daily vehicle mileage and fuel logs. Will perform minor servicing and maintenance of equipment.

This position requires a Class A Commercial Driver License, with hazmat and tanker endorsements. License must not be restricted to automatic transmission. May require occasional overnight stays.
