Job summary

Optima Engineering is seeking a Low Voltage Technology Designer to design and develop low voltage systems for commercial, government, university and K-12 projects in the Charlotte area. You will work with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, efficient solutions and support project goals.

The role requires 4–5 years in low voltage design, proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD, and strong understanding of NEC/BICSI standards.

Qualifications

4–5 years of experience in low voltage technology system design.
Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
Strong knowledge of NEC and BICSI standards.
Excellent problem-solving and written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to collaborate with architects, contractors and teams.

Responsibilities

Design and develop low voltage electrical systems (telecom, security, AV).
Create detailed schematics, drawings and specifications using standard software.
Conduct site assessments and tailor solutions to project needs.
Perform calculations to ensure compliance with codes and standards.
Collaborate with architects, contractors and team members on plans.
Review project drawings and provide technical guidance on LV systems.
Stay updated on emerging low voltage technologies.
