Responsibilities

  • Lead low voltage system designs from concept through construction.

  • Design and layout systems including load calculations, equipment selection, schematics, and schedules.
  • Prepare detailed drawings, CSI-format specifications, and technical documentation for bidding and construction.
  • Perform system analyses, studies, and cost estimates.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, clients, and contractors throughout project lifecycle.
  • Participate in construction administration, including site visits and technical reviews.
  • Help manage project budgets and internal resources.
  • Provide mentorship to junior engineers and designers on the team.

Job description

A growing engineering consulting firm is seeking a Senior Low Voltage Designer to lead design and consulting services for a variety of technology infrastructure projects. This role will focus on the design of IT, communications, security, audio-visual, and structured cabling systems for new builds, system upgrades, and renovations. Projects may range from single-system designs to complex, multi-system programs.

The ideal candidate is experienced in preparing construction documents, managing design phases, and providing construction administration services. Knowledge of electrical power systems is a strong asset.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead low voltage system designs from concept through construction
  • Evaluate system options and develop solutions aligned with project scope and goals
