Job summary

Slate LV is seeking a motivated Low Voltage Technician in Minnesota to join a growing team delivering high-quality commercial low-voltage installations. You will be involved in structured cabling, network infrastructure, access control, IP video surveillance, AV systems, and wireless deployments.

As an early member of Slate LV, you will work alongside experienced professionals, receive ongoing manufacturer and technical training, and help shape company culture while building long-term client

Qualifications

  • 2+ years commercial low-voltage installation experience.
  • Experience with structured cabling and network infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with access control and IP camera systems.
  • Basic networking knowledge (switches, PoE, IP addressing).
  • Ability to read blueprints and construction drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Perform structured cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, fiber) and network infrastructure tasks.
  • Assist with access control systems and IP video surveillance installations.
  • Install, program, and commission AV systems and conference rooms.
  • Set up wireless access points and perform cable testing, labeling, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with electricians, general contractors, and other trades on site.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and professional jobsite.
  • Provide timely service calls, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

What You'll Do
  • Structured cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, fiber)

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of commercial low-voltage installation experience
  • Experience with structured cabling and network infrastructure
  • Familiarity with access control and IP camera systems
  • Basic networking knowledge (switches, PoE, IP addressing)
  • Ability to read blueprints and construction drawings
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Comfortable working on ladders and lifts
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
