We are seeking an experienced Low Voltage & Audio Visual Technician with at least 3+ years of hands-on field experience installing, terminating, testing, and troubleshooting low-voltage cabling and AV systems. This position will support commercial customer environments including restaurants, offices, retail locations, and other commercial facilities.
The ideal candidate is dependable, self-motivated, comfortable working independently in the field, and experienced taking projects from rough-in through final installation and testing.
Install, route, pull, terminate, label, and test Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, coax, speaker wire, and other low-voltage cabling
Perform cable rough-ins, build pathways, install J-hooks, cable supports, racks, patch panels, and wall plates
Terminate and test RJ45 connections, patch panels, keystone jacks, and other low-voltage connections
Install and support commercial audio visual equipment, including TVs, displays, speakers, amplifiers, microphones, projectors, and related equipment
Mount TVs, displays, speakers, cameras, access points, and other equipment
Assist with installation and troubleshooting of networking, Wi-Fi, security cameras, and structured cabling systems
Read and understand floor plans, wiring diagrams, scopes of work, and installation drawings
Troubleshoot cabling, connectivity, AV, and hardware issues
Perform cable certification and testing to ensure installations meet project requirements
Maintain clean and professional cable management in racks, IDFs/MDFs, and customer-facing areas
Coordinate with project managers, customers, vendors, and other technicians while onsite
Document completed work and communicate project issues or changes
Maintain a clean and safe work environment at customer locations
3+ years of professional low-voltage installation experience
Strong experience with structured cabling and Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6A
Experience terminating, testing, labeling, and troubleshooting network cabling
Hands-on experience installing commercial AV systems
Experience mounting TVs, displays, speakers, cameras, and other equipment
Ability to properly use cable testers, termination tools, drills, hand tools, and other installation equipment
Comfortable working from ladders and lifts when required
Ability to read basic construction drawings and low-voltage plans
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently without constant supervision
Strong communication and customer service skills
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Ability to travel to customer locations as needed
Commercial restaurant, hospitality, retail, or office installations
AV equipment from manufacturers such as Crestron, Extron, QSC, Biamp, or similar
Security camera and surveillance system installation
Wireless access point and basic network equipment installation
Rack building, dressing, and equipment installation
Fiber optic cabling experience
Fluke or similar cable certification/testing equipment
Experience working on new construction and retrofit projects
We need someone who is more than just a cable puller. The right technician understands how a complete low-voltage system comes together, can troubleshoot problems in the field, takes pride in clean installations, and can represent the company professionally in front of customers. This person should be comfortable handling structured cabling as their core responsibility while also being capable of supporting commercial AV, networking, cameras, and related technology installations.
