Job summary

Western States Fire Protection is seeking a Low Voltage Technician to provide on-site inspection, installation, repair and maintenance of fire alarm, nurse call, cameras, and security equipment, with preventive maintenance across multiple manufacturers. It adheres to NFPA and company standards to ensure high-quality, safe installations.

You will train apprentices, coordinate with the Project Manager and Schedule Coordinator, and help ensure complete turnover and billing of completed work.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of NFPA-72 required.
  • NICET FAS-II certification required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Test all equipment after installation or repairs for performance.
  • Follow safety manual to protect self and others.
  • Communicate with Project Manager/Schedule Coordinator about delays and status.
  • Train apprentices on procedures, inspections and installation techniques.
  • Ensure work meets NFPA and company standards with quality inspection.
  • Coordinate closeout and turnover of jobs to clients for billing.

Low Voltage Technician

The function of this position is to provide reliable, high-quality customer support through on-site inspecting, installing, repairing and/or replacing fire alarm, nurse call, cameras, & security equipment as well as conducting preventive maintenance services pertaining to many different manufacturers' equipment.

The salary range for this position is $25.00-$40.00 per hour depending on experience.

Job Responsibilities
  • Tests all equipment after installation or repairs made to ensure performance of system
  • Work in compliance with the Company’s safety manual with safety of self and others in mind at all times
  • Daily communications with Project Manager and/or Schedule Coordinator on inspection or project delays, requirements and general status of jobs
  • Responsible for training apprentices on Company procedures, systems inspection and installation techniques
  • All work is performed to NFPA and Company standards with quality inspection and installation techniques practiced
  • Works with Project Manager, Schedule Coordinator and Office Administrative Staff to ensure complete closeout and turnover of jobs to the client (Ensure that work is completed so it can be billed in full)
Job Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of experience preferred
  • Knowledge of NFPA-72, NICET FAS-II certification required
  • Low Voltage System Manufacturer factory certifications as required per territory
  • Ability to pass a post-offer drug test, background and reference check
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Regular bending, reaching, climbing and walking
