Job summary

Western States Fire Protection Company (WSFP) seeks a Low Voltage Tech and Project Tech to provide on-site inspection, installation, repair and preventive maintenance of fire alarm and security systems. The role emphasizes safety and adherence to NFPA standards while supporting project coordination and client turnover.

The position offers hourly pay of $30.00-$40.00, negotiable with experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package including health and life insurance, retirement plans, tuition

Qualifications

  • Two or more years experience in low voltage tech.
  • Knowledge of NFPA-72 codes.
  • Low Voltage System Manufacturer factory certifications as required per territory.
  • Ability to pass a post-offer drug test, background and reference check.

Responsibilities

  • Tests equipment after installation or repairs to ensure system performance.
  • Follow safety manual to protect self and others at all times.
  • Communicate with Project Manager/Schedule Coordinator on inspection or project delays and status.
  • Train apprentices on procedures, inspection and installation techniques.
  • Ensure work meets NFPA and company standards with quality inspection and techniques.
  • Coordinate closeout and turnover to client so work can be billed in full.

Low Voltage Tech and Project Tech

The function of this position is to provide reliable, high-quality customer support through on-site inspecting, installing, repairing and/or replacing fire alarm & security equipment as well as conducting preventive maintenance services pertaining to many different manufacturer’s equipment.

The salary range for this position is $30.00-$40.00 per hour depending on experience. Compensation is negotiable.

Job Responsibilities
  • Tests all equipment after installation or repairs made to ensure performance of system
  • Work in compliance with the Company’s safety manual with safety of self and others in mind at all times
  • Daily communications with Project Manager and/or Schedule Coordinator on inspection or project delays, requirements and general status of jobs
  • Responsible for training apprentices on Company procedures, systems inspection and installation techniques
  • All work is performed to NFPA and Company standards with quality inspection and installation techniques practiced
  • Works with Project Manager, Schedule Coordinator and Office Administrative Staff to ensure complete closeout and turnover of jobs to the client (Ensure that work is completed so it can be billed in full)
