Job summary

Western States Fire Protection (WSFP) is seeking a Low Voltage Tech and Project Tech to provide reliable on-site inspection, installation, repair and preventive maintenance of fire alarm and security equipment.

The role requires at least two years of experience, knowledge of NFPA-72 codes, NICET FAS-II (FAS-III preferred), and the ability to pass post-offer drug tests and background checks. Salary ranges $30.00-$40.00 per hour, negotiable, based in Steamboat Springs, Colorado.

Qualifications

  • Two or more years of experience in low voltage or fire protection systems.
  • Knowledge of NFPA-72 codes.
  • NICET FAS-II required; NICET FAS-III preferred.
  • Low voltage system manufacturer certifications as required per territory.
  • Ability to pass post-offer drug test, background and reference checks.

Responsibilities

  • Tests all equipment after installation or repairs to ensure system performance.
  • Work safely according to the Company’s safety manual at all times.
  • Daily communications with Project Manager and/or Schedule Coordinator on inspection or project delays and status.
  • Responsible for training apprentices on Company procedures, inspection and installation techniques.
  • All work is performed to NFPA and Company standards with quality inspection and installation techniques practiced.
  • Works with Project Manager, Schedule Coordinator and Office Administrative Staff to ensure complete closeout and turnover of jobs to the client (Ensure that work is completed so it can be billed in full).

Low Voltage Tech and Project Tech

The function of this position is to provide reliable, high-quality customer support through on-site inspecting, installing, repairing and/or replacing fire alarm & security equipment as well as conducting preventive maintenance services pertaining to many different manufacturer’s equipment.

The salary range for this position is $30.00-$40.00 per hour depending on experience. Compensation is negotiable.
