Job Responsibilities:

1. Experience as a voice/Data Cable Technician in a commercial setting.
2. Ability to properly install and route CAT5e, CAT6, and Fiber Optic cables.
3. Strong background with cable routing, terminating, and troubleshooting.
4. Installing Wireless Access Points and mounts.
5. Installing cable support structures (ladder racks, j-hooks, innerduct).
6. Must be comfortable working on lifts (scissor and boom lifts).
7. Experience with extending, troubleshooting, and maintaining data circuits & telephone lines.
8. Set up computer hardware, install, and customize software applications used in telecommunications.
9. Projects and services could include Phone Systems, Structured Cabling Systems, Computer Networking Systems, Access Control, IP Video Surveillance, and A/V Systems in various environments.
10. Familiarity with troubleshooting and maintaining the systems listed above.
11. Perform detailed and accurate site surveys for clients.
12. Maintain a safe work environment by following codes, standards, and legal regulations.
13. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications:

1. Minimum 1+ years’ experience in the installation/maintenance of voice and data systems in a commercial environment.
2. Good written and verbal communication skills.
3. Ability to work in structured cabling environments (from ladders, lifts, and confined spaces).
4. Good interpersonal and customer service skills.
5. Ownership of a laptop/smartphone and telecom tools such as snips, modular crimp tools, punch-down tools, cables testers, cordless drills, etc.
6. Familiarity with BICSI, EIA, TIA, or NEC Standards.
7. Access Control & Fire Alarm experience is a plus.
8. OSHA 10/30 Certified.
9. MUST HAVE a reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license.
