Job description

Company Overview

We are partnering with a well-established residential and commercial technology integration company based in the Dayton and Cincinnati, Ohio area. The team designs and installs smart home automation, home theater, security, and networking systems for homeowners, along with AV, security, and network infrastructure for commercial clients, with a workload split roughly evenly between residential and commercial projects.

Built by hands‑on owners who are still active in the business today, the company has grown into a team of about a dozen technicians, project managers, and support staff. Leadership describes the company as client‑first rather than profit‑first, choosing to reinvest in long‑term stability for its clients and its people rather than chase short‑term margin.

Why Join Us?
  • Attitude and Aptitude Over Resume — Leadership would rather hire someone hungry to learn with a strong work ethic than someone with years of experience. Motivated candidates without a direct industry background are welcome to apply.
  • Paid Training and Certifications — The company pays for manufacturer certifications and sends technicians to industry trade shows to build their skills, in addition to hands‑on training in the office and in the field.
  • A Real Path to Grow — Technicians have the opportunity to specialize in service and troubleshooting, a track that comes with higher earning potential, or move toward design and programming work over time.
  • Client‑First Culture — This is a team that prioritizes doing right by clients and employees over chasing profit, and it shows in how leadership reinvests in the business and its people.
  • Team Culture — The team gets together throughout the year, including a holiday celebration, and enjoys informal lunches together when the crew is on the same job site.
Job Overview

This growing residential and commercial integration company is adding a Low Voltage Technician to its installation team. In this entry‑level to early‑career role, you will work alongside a tight‑knit crew installing and supporting residential and commercial smart home, security, audio/video, and networking systems throughout the Dayton and Cincinnati area.

The company is looking for someone who brings energy, coachability, and a genuine passion for technology, not necessarily years of direct industry experience. You will start by learning the fundamentals of low‑voltage installation, and as your skills grow, you will have the opportunity to move into service and troubleshooting work or take on more advanced design and programming responsibilities.

You will work closely with the existing technician team and report directly to company leadership.

Responsibilities
  • Install, wire, and configure residential and commercial smart home, security, audio/video, and networking systems
  • Run structured cabling and mount equipment such as TVs, speakers, racks, and cameras as part of standard job site work
  • Support system service calls and troubleshooting as your skills and experience grow
  • Travel to job sites throughout the Dayton and Cincinnati area, typically driving a company vehicle to and from site
  • Collaborate with teammates and communicate clearly and professionally with clients on site
  • Participate in ongoing manufacturer training and certification programs
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Strong work ethic, coachability, and a positive, team‑first attitude
  • Reliable and punctual, with the ability to consistently show up ready to work
  • Comfortable performing physically demanding tasks, including lifting equipment, working on ladders, and accessing attics or crawl spaces
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across job sites in the Dayton/Cincinnati region

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior hands‑on technical experience such as low‑voltage wiring, structured cabling, cable installation, security, or electrical work
  • Familiarity with Control4 or similar smart home/AV platforms
  • Interest in growing into service, design, or programming work over time

Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift and carry equipment, work on ladders, and access attics, crawl spaces, and other tight areas as part of routine job site work
Benefits
  • Simple IRA retirement plan with company match
  • Company‑sponsored health insurance plan with employer contribution
  • Paid time off that increases with tenure
  • Paid company holidays, plus additional time off between Christmas and New Year
  • Paid manufacturer training, certifications, and attendance at industry trade shows
  • Team events throughout the year, including a holiday celebration
Compensation

$18 to $23 per hour, based on experience. Candidates with prior hands‑on technical or service experience may be considered for a starting rate above this range.
