Job summary

Albuquerque Cabling is seeking a Low Voltage Install Technician for a full-time, on-site position based in Albuquerque, NM. You will install, terminate, and test low voltage cabling across voice, data, access control, AV, wireless, and IP camera systems.

You will read plans, pull cable, mount devices, label and document work, and assist with system start-up and basic configuration while collaborating with project managers and engineers to meet design specs and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to read and interpret low voltage plans and diagrams.
• Experience with pulling, terminating, and testing low voltage cabling.
• Comfort working on ladders, lifts, and in ceiling spaces with OSHA guidelines.

Role Description

The Low Voltage Install Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Albuquerque, NM. This position is responsible for installing, terminating, and testing low voltage cabling for voice, data, access control, audio/video, wireless, and IP camera systems. Daily tasks include reading and interpreting plans, pulling cable, mounting devices and equipment, labeling and documenting work, and assisting with system start-up and basic configuration. The technician collaborates with project managers and engineers to ensure installations meet design specifications, safety standards, and client requirements. The role also involves inspecting existing installations, performing routine maintenance, and supporting troubleshooting and repairs as needed on active projects.

Qualifications

• Strong foundational knowledge of electricity and electrical equipment relevant to low voltage systems.
• Experience in electrical maintenance and troubleshooting of low voltage infrastructure and related components.
• Understanding of basic electrical engineering principles as they apply to cabling, connectivity, and system performance.
• Ability to read and work from technical drawings, low voltage plans, and structured cabling diagrams.
• Comfort working on ladders, lifts, and in ceiling spaces, with adherence to safety and OSHA guidelines.
• Previous experience in low voltage installation (voice/data cabling, access control, security, or AV) preferred.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively with team members and clients.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant technical certifications (e.g., low voltage, cabling, or networking) are a plus.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites in and around Albuquerque, NM.
