Job description

Position Summary

Our team of Procedural Service Technicians build the foundation of trust and exceptional service support. They strive for one-of-a-kind experiences as they perform immediate equipment servicing, identify, quote, and coordinate service offerings to meet Customer needs.

The successful incumbent performs effective on-site preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, equipment modification, and installation support on complex mechanical, electro-mechanical, and electronic units, primarily in a hospital environment under a highly regulated, time-sensitive environment. Our technicians provide Customers with basic information, pricing, and options, focusing on clear, proactive communications during all service phases to optimize Customer operations. This role requires high adaptability and sound judgment to changing needs and demands.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Drive Customer satisfaction through proactive communication and resolving issues expediently.
  2. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on STERIS Surgical product lines, related equipment, and competitive equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Tasks include disassembling, replacing, repairing parts, troubleshooting, adjusting, calibrating, and certifying equipment using standard and specialized tools.
  3. Conduct Customer training and in-servicing on equipment, coordinating with relevant managers.
  4. Ensure positive Customer experiences during installations, conversions, and site visits for small projects, coordinating with project managers or installers.
  5. Utilize technology to perform administrative duties, including scheduling, documentation, communication, troubleshooting, and inventory management.
  6. Establish and maintain effective relationships with Customers, managers, and support teams. Communicate effectively regarding scheduling, issues, and opportunities for product enhancement.
  7. Identify sales opportunities and recommend STERIS products/services, communicating leads to management and sales staff.
  8. Adhere to hospital protocols and safety procedures, including OR and sterile field guidelines.
  9. Assist with inventory procedures and resolve purchase order issues as needed.
Required Skills and Experience

- High School Diploma or GED with at least 4 years of relevant work experience, including 2 years in mechanical/technical roles.

- Customer and team engagement experience.

- Basic computer skills and effective communication skills.

- Valid driver’s license and ability to meet background and physical requirements.

- Flexibility to work outside normal hours and travel as needed.

- Ability to establish an effective home office setup.

*Associates degree or related certifications may be considered towards technical experience.
