Job summary

Day Wireless Systems is seeking a skilled LV electrical technician to oversee installation, troubleshooting, design, and preventive maintenance for commercial LV projects. The role includes determining material needs, ensuring drawings and specifications are accurate, and testing electrical patterns on indoor lighting and other electrical systems.

You will retrofit equipment with controls to improve efficiency and performance, while handling multiple projects and maintaining safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and perform advanced LV electrical installation, troubleshooting, construction, and maintenance.
• Repair and document Low Band, VHF/UHF, and 800/900 MHz systems and related equipment.
• Install, maintain, and repair base systems, antennas, microwave, and solar power systems.
• Manage multiple priorities and handle stressful situations.
• Read blueprints, run conduit, wire devices, and perform quality control testing.
• Interpret LV drawings and code specs for wiring layouts; test and repair power systems.
• Perform upgrades and preventive maintenance on electrical control systems.
• Work on various projects with minimal supervision.

Job description

Summary: Oversee, coordinate, and execute installation, repairs, designs, troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance on Low Voltage Electrical projects, including but not limited to, indoor lighting systems, electrical systems for a commercial setting. In addition, this professional helps determines type and cost of materials required for the projects, ensures specifications and drawings are accurate, reviewing projects and plans, determining layouts, and testing electrical patterns.

The candidate will also be responsible to retrofit equipment with controls needed to improve the efficiency and performance of the devices.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Advanced LV electrical installation, troubleshooting, construction, and maintenance skills.
• Repair and provide technical support and documentation for Low Band, VHF/UHF, and 800/900 MHz analog and digital systems, mobile and portable subscriber equipment, simulcast.
• Installation, maintenance, and repair of base systems, repeaters, remote controls, multiplexers, antenna systems, microwave systems, battery backup systems, and solar power systems.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to diffuse and manage volatile and stressful situations. Reading blueprints, running conduit, wiring devices, troubleshooting, and performing quality control testing.
• Reading and interpreting mechanical, architectural and electrical LV drawings and code specifications for determining wiring layouts.
• Troubleshooting, testing, and repairing emergency generators and various LV electrical systems and power distribution systems to ensure that they are working properly.
• Performing upgrades or preventive maintenance to electrical control systems.
• Running tests, isolating problems, replacing damaged section of wiring, laying conduit, and performing other tasks as required.
• Work on various projects without supervision.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:

• Advanced courses that deal with basic electric controls, electrical code and wiring
• 6 years minimum of commercial LV wiring experience with a good knowledge of electrical installations.

Licenses and/or Certifications:

• Washington/Oregon - Electrical EL06 License or LEA License
