Job summary

Captivate Staffing Group seeks a Low Voltage Design Engineer in Alpharetta, GA to design and coordinate low voltage systems including telecommunications, security, and audio-visuals. You will work with architects, engineers, clients, and construction teams to develop coordinated designs and resolve issues through the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities include creating drawings, using Revit for coordination, and designing access control, CCTV, intrusion, cabling, and telecom, plus fiber/CAT6

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Electrical Engineering degree preferred (or equivalent design experience).
• 2–4+ years in designing low voltage systems.
• Experience with access control, CCTV, and intrusion detection.
• Experience designing structured cabling, fiber, CAT6/CAT6A, and telecom systems.
• Proficiency creating floor plans, details, and system drawings in Revit.
• Understanding of RFIs, submittals, and field coordination.
• RCDD certification or CTS/NICET/AVIXA are a plus.

We are looking for a Low Voltage Design Engineer to join our team in Alpharetta, GA. This position will focus on the design and coordination of low voltage technology systems, including telecommunications, security, and audio-visual systems. You will work closely with architects, engineers, clients, and construction teams to develop coordinated designs and resolve issues throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Design low voltage technology systems and prepare detailed drawings, floor plans, schematics, and construction documents.
• Develop and coordinate designs using Autodesk Revit.
• Design systems such as access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, structured cabling, and telecommunications.
• Develop fiber optic and CAT6/CAT6A cabling layouts and related documentation.
• Assist with construction administration, including RFIs, submittals, and field coordination.
• Visit active construction sites and existing facilities to support project requirements and verify existing conditions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program is preferred. Equivalent hands-on design experience may be considered in place of a degree.
• 2–4+ years of experience designing low voltage systems, with additional experience strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience with access control, CCTV, and intrusion detection systems.
• Experience designing structured cabling, fiber optic, CAT6/CAT6A, and telecommunications systems.
• Proficiency creating floor plans, details, and system drawings in Revit.
• Understanding of construction processes, including RFIs, submittals, and field coordination.
• RCDD certification through BICSI is a plus, but not required.
• CTS (AVIXA), NICET, or other relevant industry certifications are also a plus.
• Experience with audio-visual system design is highly desirable.
