Job summary

American Equipment in Victorville, CA seeks a Wiring Controls Technician (Low Voltage) to install, wire, start up and troubleshoot control systems on overhead cranes and hoists. Read schematics, perform tests, and document work for reports and time tracking.

You will travel regionally to customer sites, follow NFPA 70/OSHA safety standards, and assist in training junior technicians. A HS diploma and 1–2 years of field experience are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years hands-on experience with low voltage control systems in industrial settings preferred.
• Read electrical diagrams, ladder logic, and control schematics.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites.
• Familiarity with NFPA 70 (NEC) and OSHA safety practices a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, troubleshoot, and repair low voltage control systems on overhead cranes and hoists.
• Perform diagnostics on new installations and modernizations.
• Read schematics and diagrams to complete service tasks accurately.
• Conduct functional testing and system commissioning for proper operation.
• Document work, service reports, parts used, and time tracking.
