Job summary

Instrata in Richmond, VA is seeking an Installer to support low-voltage cabling and communication systems on commercial construction projects. You will work on layout, pulling, termination, and testing of fiber, copper, AV, and access control technologies to help our teams deliver quality installations powering today’s connected spaces.

As a hands-on role, you’ll read blueprints, label cables, and assist with equipment racks, with on-the-job training and a focus on safety, PPE, and site

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent experience).
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to read basic diagrams and follow structured work instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with pulling, dressing, terminating, and labeling cabling across various systems.
  • Set up racks, cabinets, and supports according to spec and safety code.
  • Assist with mounting and basic setup of electronic equipment.
  • Use hand tools and demonstrate proper usage.
  • Learn to terminate copper connectors and participate in testing.
  • Follow blueprints and installation instructions under supervision.
  • Promote safety, PPE usage, and site cleanliness.
  • Communicate daily updates to Project Leads.
  • Stay organized and manage tools and materials efficiently.
  • Be open to travel and varied schedules.
