Job summary

Instrata Technologies, LLC. is seeking a Technician to install, test, and troubleshoot a range of communication systems on commercial projects in the Richmond area. You’ll interpret blueprints, lead cable installations, and perform terminations with precision.

You will mentor junior installers, plan weekly material needs, and uphold safety and quality standards on every job site. OSHA 10 is required, and travel to sites may be involved.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of low-voltage installation experience in commercial construction.
• Knowledge of color codes (4- and 25-pair) and cable termination methods.
• Familiarity with cabling codes, standards, and tools for structured installations.
• Ability to interpret schematics and work independently or under guidance.
• Basic use of smartphones, tablets, and cable test equipment.

Responsibilities

• Install and terminate Coax, UTP, DAS, AV, Multiconductor, Access Control, Intrusion Detection, and Fiber cables and connectors.
• Test copper and fiber using appropriate equipment and troubleshoot performance issues.
• Read drawings and apply specifications and job scopes accurately.
• Plan ahead for weekly labor and material needs.
• Support team by following daily to-do lists and uphold standards.
