Job summary

Next Level Technician in Appleton, WI is seeking a Low Voltage Technician – Structured Cabling to install and test CAT5e/CAT6, fiber, and access control systems. You will read blueprints and work at client sites.

The role offers $20-$24/hour, weekly pay, benefits, and opportunities for growth through structured cabling and fiber training. Some travel across Wisconsin may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years commercial/industrial low voltage experience.
• Experience with structured cabling, voice/data, or security systems preferred.
• Experience with fiber optic installation, termination, and/or splicing preferred.
• BICSI, Lift, and OSHA certifications a plus.
• Basic hand tools and PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, hi-vis vest, steel-toe boots) required.
• Working knowledge of telecom/data networks.
• Willingness to travel to job sites within Wisconsin as needed.

• Pull, terminate, dress, and label CAT5e/CAT6, voice, data, security, paging, nurse call, and fiber optic systems
• Test installed cable (Fluke or similar testers)
• Punch down voice and data jacks
• Perform punch-downs, cross-connects, fiber termination, and fiber splicing according to industry standards and color codes
• Install racks, patch panels, cable trays, cabinets, MDF/IDF, etc.
• Work safely on ladders/lifts (comfortable with heights)
• Read and interpret blueprints/system layouts
• Install and support access control, CCTV, audio/visual, security, paging, and nurse call systems

Responsibilities

Physical Requirements

• Ability to bend, lift, twist, turn, crawl into tight spaces, frequently climb and work from 6'+ ladders and lifts, perform extended overhead cabling/wiring, and load, unload, and move materials up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
