Job summary

EnvelopiQ, part of the Envelop Group, seeks a System Design Engineer to design and develop advanced low-voltage systems for commercial and industrial buildings in Indianapolis. The role focuses on fire alarm, AV, and access control, with emphasis on compliant, cost-effective solutions.

You will conduct site surveys, prepare floor plans and specs, support pre-sales, and deliver project documentation from kickoff to closeout.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
2+ years designing and developing low-voltage systems for commercial/industrial buildings.
Proficiency with CAD software FireCAD, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Revit.
Deep knowledge of low-voltage products to assess requirements and select components.
Strong deadlines, time management, and documentation skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Proficient with common software including Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

Design low-voltage systems (fire alarm, telecom, security, AV, intercom, paging).
Conduct site surveys and discovery to capture requirements and budget.
Support pre-sales with scope and cost-effective solutions.
Prepare floor plans, diagrams, and specs for project drawings.
Ensure compliance with codes and safety standards.
Maintain design records and project docs.
Contribute to bid packages with system knowledge.
