Job summary

Envelop Group seeks a System Design Engineer to design and develop advanced low-voltage systems for commercial and industrial buildings. You will conduct discovery sessions, prepare floor plans and specifications, and ensure compliance with codes and safety standards.

Responsibilities include supporting pre-sales activities, producing bid packages, drafting installation documentation, and providing technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in designing and developing low-voltage systems for commercial and industrial buildings.
  • Proficiency with CAD software such as FireCAD, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Revit, or similar programs.
  • In-depth knowledge of low-voltage products and technologies to evaluate project requirements and assist with component selection.
  • Strong deadline-oriented mindset with excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proven ability with Windows, Word, Apple IOS, Android, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Design low-voltage systems, including fire alarm, telecommunications, nurse call, audio-visual, security/access control, intercom, paging.
  • Conduct discovery sessions and site surveys to understand project requirements, objectives, and budget.
  • Support pre-sales activities by identifying and estimating cost-effective solutions.
  • Prepare detailed floor plans, diagrams, and technical specifications for project drawings.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, local codes, and safety regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of all design work and project documentation.
  • Contribute to bid packages with knowledge of low-voltage systems and materials.
  • Draft infrastructure and installation documentation.
  • Deliver briefings, status reports, and presentations to customers and prospects.
  • Provide technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle and during closeout.
