Job summary

H. Stephen Jones & Associates, Inc. seeks a Low-Voltage Systems Designer to join our team of specialists on large institutional projects. You will design, document, and coordinate low-voltage systems across telecommunications, security, AV, and building automation domains.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience designing low-voltage systems using 3D modeling tools.
  • Proficiency in Revit.
  • Familiarity with codes and standards such as NFPA, NEC, BICSI, and TIA/EIA.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Design and engineer low-voltage system plans, risers, and details using BIM tools
  • Prepare project specifications and technical reports
  • Review and interpret architectural and engineering plans to coordinate low-voltage system integration
  • Perform load calculations, device layout, and routing for cabling infrastructure
  • Coordinate low-voltage designs with other engineering disciplines, architects, and consultants
  • Review submittals, respond to RFIs, and provide support during construction administration.
  • Conduct site surveys and field investigations
  • Monitor and stay informed on technology trends and industry standards such as BICSI

Job description

H. Stephen Jones & Associates, Inc. (HSJ) is seeking a Low-Voltage Systems Designer to join our team of low-voltage and door hardware experts. In this role, you will be responsible for the design and documentation of low-voltage systems on large complex institutional projects. This includes telecommunications, electronic security (ex: surveillance, duress, access control, intrusion), audio/visual, and building automation systems. Our low-voltage systems designers collaborate with cross-functional teams and take projects from concept through construction, ensuring systems are compliant with all applicable codes and standards.
