Job summary

RTX in Tucson, AZ is hiring for a materials lead role onsite. You will drive material and process development, characterize materials, and work within integrated product teams to apply advanced signature control techniques to deliverables.

The role emphasizes collaboration with customers and suppliers, mentoring engineers, and managing projects in a high-security, on-site environment. A strong STEM background and DoD-related experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a STEM degree and 8+ years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with 5+ years experience.
• Experience in Low Observables or Radar materials.
• Experience with material characterization, performance testing/prediction, and integration on air vehicles.
• Experience with customer and supplier collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead material and process development across Raytheon product lines and new business.
• Predict material performance using tests and modeling; support development and production.
• Conduct RF, mechanical, and physical material testing and characterization.
• Prepare engineering documentation and interface with customers and suppliers.
• Mentor early career engineers and lead IPC teams on material lead tasks.
• Manage projects and participate in program reviews.
