Job summary

FreeWheel, a Comcast company, seeks a Software Engineer 3 to join the Buyercloud Ad Serving team. The role focuses on a data-driven and model-driven approach to delivering high-throughput ad auctions and low-latency decisions across global platforms.

You will design scalable features, optimize performance, and contribute to observability and documentation while collaborating with engineers across multiple time zones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of software engineering experience.
• Significant experience with compiled languages, such as C++, Java, Rust, and Go.
• Deep understanding of building systems at scale.
• Experience with optimizing performance, scaling and data modeling.
• Strong software architecture knowledge.
• Experience working in a Linux ecosystem.

Responsibilities

• Design and build data-driven and model-driven features for customers to execute campaigns.
• Scale distributed application and infrastructure.
• Optimize algorithms to reduce cloud hosting costs.
• Support and extend observability stack for issues.
• Participate in on-call rotations and act as escalation contact.
• Create systems documentation and playbooks.
• Other duties as assigned.
