Job summary

Jasper’s in Beaverton, OR is hiring for guest-focused team members to greet guests, educate on products, and process transactions across lottery, food, tobacco and alcohol. You will ensure compliance with alcohol/tobacco regulations, maintain cleanliness, and assist in training new team members while delivering a consistently welcoming guest experience.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, basic math skills, OLCC permit, and food handler’s card; prior customer service and cash handling

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must speak/read/write English for guest interactions.
• Must hold OLCC Alcohol Permit and Food Handler’s Card.
• Experience in customer service and cash handling is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet Guests in a warm and welcoming manner.
• Card guests to ensure minors are not served where prohibited.
• Educate Guests on menu, lottery and other products.
• Offer beverages to Guests dining in or playing lottery.
• Process transactions for lottery, food, tobacco and alcohol.
• Follow cash handling policies and procedures.
• Ensure alcohol and tobacco sales comply with regulations.
• Maintain cleanliness of all guest and team areas.
• Perform inventory counts, including cash, lottery products and tobacco items.
• Keep video lottery machines, tables and seats clean between guests.
• Greet guests with a warm farewell and invite return.
• Balance cash and lottery products at end of shift.

Team members are responsible for ensuring that every Guest is delighted with their experience at our locations. Team members must have positive Guest interactions to ensure that Guests are not only satisfied, but delighted with their experience, whether playing lottery, dining in, or purchasing tobacco or alcohol products.

What the Job Is:

Greet Guests in a warm and welcoming manner.

Using proper carding techniques, ensure that no minors are allowed on the premises unless allowed by law.

Educate Guests on menu, lottery, and other products.

Offer and provide Guests who are dining in or playing ongoing lottery games with a complimentary beverage.

Process transactions for lottery, food, tobacco, and alcohol purchases.

Follow Jasper’s cash handling policies and procedures.

Ensure that all alcohol service and tobacco sales are within both Jasper’s and City/State/Federal regulations.

Always maintain the cleanliness of the location, including all Guest and Team member accessible areas.

Perform inventory counts, including cash, lottery products, and tobacco items.

Ensure that video lottery machines, tables, and seats are wiped down between each Guest.

Gives a warm farewell and invites Guests to return.

Balances cash and lottery products at end of shift

May assist in training new Team Members.

What You Need to Have:

Education:

• o High School graduate or equivalent.
• o Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language of the work location and the Guests who typically visit.
• o Must be able to perform simple mathematical calculations and complete computer data entry.
• o Must hold a current Alcohol Service Permit (OLCC)
• o Must be able to obtain valid Food Handler’s Card

Experience:

• o Previous customer service experience and cash handling experience is a plus.
• o Must be able to communicate and work with a variety of people and personalities in a positive manner.
• o Needs to be Guest-sensitive and possess a sense of timing and be able to multi-task so Guest needs are met in a timely manner.
• o Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
