Job summary

Mortenson Construction is seeking an experienced LOTO Electrical Superintendent I to coordinate, plan, and supervise electrical activities within a defined discipline. The role requires strong leadership, deep electrical knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple craft teams across project sites while maintaining safety and quality standards.

You will work with engineers and field teams, review drawings, and ensure compliance with specifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 10 years' experience with high and medium voltage equipment and cable, installation of collection lines and substation construction.
• Minimum 13 years supervisory experience.
• Proficiency in installation, testing, acceptance, maintenance, and repair of high and medium voltage cables.
• Knowledgeable about current injection, Hi-pot, capacitance discharge, contact resistance, Megger, TTR, Doble, and other cable testing methods.
• Working knowledge of electrical drawings, underground duct banks, trenching, manholes and vaults, transformer usage, SCADA systems, transmission line construction, testing and commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate electrical scope work ensuring high-quality installation including underground cabling, overhead lines, and substation construction.
• Supervise installation of the collection system and manage power grid connections to the existing distribution system.
• Provide drawings, constructability reviews, and feedback with engineering; verify material and workmanship quality.
• Collaborate with senior supervision on formwork, equipment sizing, site utilization, and three-week look-ahead schedules.
• Ensure resources and supervise quality control for self-performed and subcontracted work.
• Monitor trade partner work plans for safety; enforce Zero Injury Program.
