Job summary

Cox Automotive Inc. in California is hiring a Transportation Associate to orient and instruct drivers on job duties and to assist in directing work.

The role coordinates vehicle moves with the lot manager and quadrant coordinator to assure smooth flow of operations, and arranges timely transport for staff and vehicles. Responsibilities also include vehicle checks, maintaining logs and safety compliance, and supporting supervision in staffing and performance initiatives.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years' experience in a related field.
• OR alternative: any level degree/certification beyond HS diploma/GED in a related discipline; OR 5 years' experience.
• Safe Drivers needed; Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Orient and instruct new drivers regarding their job duties and assist supervisor in directing the work of employees.
• Coordinate move requirements with lot manager and quadrant coordinator to assure proper flow of vehicles.
• Ensure timely pick-up and drop-off of employees and vehicles by transporting them according to schedule to their proper work destinations.
• Perform daily maintenance and routine checks of the van and keep the vehicle fueled and serviced.
