Cox Automotive's Manheim location in Elkridge, MD is hiring for vehicle move specialists across two shifts. Positions require a high school diploma or GED with related experience or valid certifications, and a valid driver’s license.

The role involves moving and staging vehicles, using dashboards for decisions, and ensuring safe, efficient operations with attention to safety and policy compliance. Experience with lot operations and knowledge of LDM are a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years' experience in a related field.
• Or any level degree/certification beyond HS diploma/GED, or 5 years' related experience.
• Safe drivers with valid driver's license are required.
• Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmission.
• Basic mechanical knowledge (tires, fuel, jump-starts).

Responsibilities

• Organize and maintain vehicle placement within the designated zone.
• Use Supervisor and Lot Ops dashboards to stage zones and decisions daily.
• Drive continuous improvement for safety and efficient vehicle movement.
• Move and stage vehicles safely to intended destinations.
• Ensure vehicles are operable or engage tow/service teams when needed.
• Label vehicles with sale and routing labels to track movements.
• Communicate inventory status and set priorities with crew leaders and managers.
• Model Cox/Manheim values and uphold conduct policies.
• Be a visible safety advocate by following procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

2 SHIFTS

(2 openings) Monday - Friday - 7a - 4p

(1 opening) Tuesday - Saturday 7a - 4p

Job Responsibilities:

• Organize and maintain the placement of vehicles within the designated zone or move area to the defined standard established by lot operations leadership.
• On a daily basis utilize information from the Supervisor and Lot Ops dashboards to make move decisions to stage their assigned zone area.
• Responsible for continuous improvement efforts relating to the safety and efficient movement of vehicles in and out of their assigned zone area.
• Move vehicles and stage them in a safe arrangement to their proper work destinations to eliminate multiple drop-off points and less than full loads.
• Confirm that all vehicles can operate safely and engage service and tow teams when inoperable vehicles are found.
• Label vehicles with the sale and routing labels to maintain accurate movements and eliminate the need for crew leaders to print and label staged units before transport.
• Communicate with crew leaders and managers regarding the status of inventory levels within the defined move area and make the decision of what is a priority.
• Set an example in behavior by championing Cox/Manheim values and ensuring that all employees are treated with respect.
• Implement all company policies and procedures related to employee and customer conduct.
• Be a visible representation of Manheim's safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures and modeling the behaviors related to these directives.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

Minimum:

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years' experience in a related field.
• OR the right candidate could also have a different combination, such as any level degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline; OR 5 years' experience in a related field.
• Safe drivers needed; valid driver's license required.
• Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmission.
• Basic mechanical knowledge of identifying (i.e., flat tires, low gas, jump-starting vehicles.)

Preferred:

• 6 months auction or driving experience preferred.
• Knowledge of lot operations/lot layout preferred.
• Knowledge of LDM preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Required to stand, walk, reach, talk and hear, vision abilities required to include close, distance, and color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods.
• Ability to lift 1-15 pounds.
• Must be able to walk long distances.

Work Environment:

• Constant exposure to outdoor weather conditions. Moderate noise level.

USD 16.63 - 24.90 per hour

Compensation:

Hourly pay rate is in the range of $16.63 - $24.90/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.

Benefits:

Employees are eligible to receive a minimum of sixteen hours of paid time off every month and seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, and parental leave.
