Job summary

Cox Automotive Inc. Bridgeton, MO is hiring for a vehicle movement role focused on organizing and staging vehicles in designated zones. You will use dashboards to guide moves, champion safety, and ensure accurate labeling and inventory awareness across the move area.

Qualified candidates will have a High School diploma or GED with relevant experience, or higher education, and a valid driver’s license with the ability to drive automatic and manual transmissions. Flexible hours may apply.

  • Knowledge of lot operations and basic vehicle handling is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and maintain vehicle placement within the designated zone.
  • Use supervisor dashboards to decide moves and stage vehicles.
  • Improve safety and efficiency in vehicle movement within the zone.
  • Stage vehicles safely to proper work destinations and optimize loads.
  • Confirm operability of vehicles and coordinate service/tows as needed.
  • Label vehicles with sale and routing labels to track movements.
  • Communicate inventory priorities to crew leaders and managers.
  • Model Cox/Manheim values and ensure respectful treatment of employees.
  • Enforce company policies on conduct and safety procedures.
  • Be a visible safety advocate and follow health guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned; overtime may be required.

Job description

Job Responsibilities
  • Organize and maintain the placement of vehicles within the designated zone or move area to the defined standard established by lot operations leadership
  • Daily, utilize information from the Supervisor and Lot Ops dashboards to make the move decisions to stage their assigned zone area
  • Responsible for continuous improvement efforts relating to safety and efficient movement of vehicles in and out of their assigned zone area
  • Move vehicles and stage them in a safe arrangement to their proper work destinations to eliminate multiple drop off points and less than full loads
  • Confirm that all vehicles can operate safely, and engage service and towing teams when inoperable vehicles are found
  • Label vehicles with sale and routing labels to maintain accurate movements and eliminate the need for crew leaders to print and label staged units before transport
  • Communicate with crew leaders and managers regarding the status of inventory levels within the defined move area and make the decision of what is priority
  • Set an example in behaviour by championing Cox/Manheim values and ensuring that all employees are treated with respect
  • Implement all company policies and procedures related to employee and customer conduct
  • Be a visible representation of Manheim's safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures, and modeling the behaviours related to these directives
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
  • May be required to work overtime as business needs dictate
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED plus 3 years of related work experience
  • OR any degree or certification above a High School Diploma/GED plus 1 year of related work experience
  • OR 5 years of related work experience
  • Safe drivers needed; valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to drive both automatic and manual transmissions
  • Basic mechanical knowledge of identifying (i.e., flat tires, low gas, jump starting vehicles.)
  • Knowledge of lot operations/lot layout preferred
  • Knowledge of LDM preferred
  • Required to stand, walk, reach, talk and hear, vision abilities required to include close, distance and color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Ability to lift 1-15 pounds
Work Environment
  • Contant exposure to outdoor weather conditions and moderate noise level
Compensation

USD 15.10 - 22.69 per hour

Hourly pay rate is in the range of $15.10 - $22.69/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.

Benefits

Employees are eligible to receive a minimum of sixteen hours of paid time off every month and seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, and parental leave.
