Job summary

Cox Automotive Inc. is seeking a part-time Vehicle Zone Associate in Rochester, NY. You will organize vehicle placements, use daily Supervisor and Lot Ops data to guide moves, and drive continuous safety and efficiency improvements in the zone.

Responsibilities include safe vehicle staging, labeling, and coordinating with service/tow teams for inoperable units, while upholding company values and conducting yourself professionally.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with 3+ years related experience.
• Right candidate may have higher degree or certification in related field.
• Valid driver's license required and driving ability for standard/automatic transmissions.

Responsibilities

• Organize and maintain vehicle placement within the designated zone as directed by lot operations leadership.
• Use Supervisor and Lot Ops dashboards daily to guide move decisions in the assigned area.
• Support continuous safety and efficiency improvements for vehicle movement in and out of the zone.
• Move and stage vehicles safely, directing to proper work destinations to avoid multiple drop-offs and underloads.
• Ensure vehicles can operate safely; engage service and towing teams for inoperable units.
• Label vehicles with sale and routing labels to streamline movement.
• Communicate inventory status to crew leaders and managers, prioritizing needs.
• Uphold Cox/Manheim values and respectful conduct for all staff.
• Follow all company policies; model safety and health procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned; overtime may be required.

• Utilize information daily from the Supervisor and Lot Ops dashboards to make move decisions related to their assigned zone area.
• Responsible for continuous improvement efforts relating to safety and efficient movement of vehicles in and out of their assigned zone area.
• Move and stage vehicles in a safe arrangement and segment into proper work destinations to eliminate multiple drop off points and less than full loads.
• Confirm that all vehicles can operate safely and engage service and towing teams when inoperable vehicles are found.
• Label vehicles with sale and routing labels to maintain accurate movements and eliminate the need for crew leaders to print and label staged units before transport.
• Communicate with crew leaders and managers regarding the status of inventory levels within the defined move area and prioritize as necessary.
• Set an example in behavior by championing Cox/Manheim values and ensuring that all employees are treated with respect.
• Implement all company policies and procedures related to employee and customer conduct.
• Be a visible representation of Manheim's safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures, and modeling the behaviors related to these directives.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
• May be required to work overtime as business needs dictate.

Qualifications

Minimum

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years' experience in a related field.
• OR the right candidate could also have a different combination, such as any level degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline.
• OR 5 years' experience in a related field
• Safe drivers needed; valid driver's license required.
• Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmission.
• Basic mechanical knowledge of identifying (i.e., flat tires, low gas, jump-starting vehicles.)

Preferred

• 6 months of auction or driving experience preferred.
• Knowledge of lot operations/lot layout preferred.
• Knowledge of LDM preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Required to stand, walk, reach, talk and hear, vision abilities required to include close, distance and color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
• Ability to lift 1-15 pounds.
• Must be able to walk long distances.

Work Environment

• Constant exposure to outdoor weather conditions. Moderate noise level.

Work Schedule

• This is a part-time role and the schedule will either be Monday, Tuesday, Friday, 9am-5pm EST or Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, 9am-5pm EST.

USD 15.10 - 22.69 per hour

Compensation

• Hourly pay rate is in the range of $15.10 - $22.69/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.
