Job summary

Cox Automotive is seeking a Lot Operations Specialist II to coordinate vehicle movement through the sales lane to the block and parking areas at the Cox location. You will assign drivers and equipment, oversee presale operations, and maintain a smooth flow of traffic to support efficient auctions.

The role requires standing for long periods, daily outdoor work, and a valid driver’s license with the ability to drive both manual and automatic vehicles.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience required.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive manual/automatic vehicles.
• 3–5 years in a related field or an equivalent combination of education/experience.
• Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to identify common vehicle issues (flat tires, low gas, jump-starts).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the movement of vehicles through the sale lane to the block and parking areas.
• Assign drivers and operators (jump start, battery, push) to maintain smooth traffic flow.
• Conduct pre-sale briefings with drivers on routes, overflows and plan changes.
• Inspect support equipment to ensure proper working order.
• Maintain run list for vehicles with no keys or late entries; track changes.
• Address customer and dealer inquiries and concerns promptly.
• Report theft, lot damage, or safety concerns to management.
