Job summary

Transport Enterprise Leasing (TEL) in Chattanooga, TN is seeking a dependable Lot Attendant. You will work closely with the Yard Manager to move, inspect, prepare, and release trucks and trailers while ensuring day-to-day yard operations run smoothly.

The role involves inspecting new and used equipment, documenting DOT compliance, and assisting customers. A high school diploma and reliable attendance are required; strong attention to detail and teamwork are essential.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, park, and move trucks and trailers in the yard
• Prepare sold and leased equipment for release to customers
• Ensure DOT documentation, tags, registration, and paperwork are current
• Install unit numbers, tags, GPS, and Fleet Locate devices
• Assist customers inspecting equipment and manage tire inventory and related needs
• Perform minor repairs and support weighing activities
• Provide regular updates to the Yard Manager to keep equipment moving

Transport Enterprise Leasing (TEL) is looking for a dependable, hands-on Lot Attendant to join our team in Chattanooga. In this role, you’ll work closely with our Yard Manager to support the day-to-day movement, inspection, preparation, and release of trucks and trailers.

This is a great fit for someone who knows their way around commercial equipment, enjoys variety in their workday, and isn’t afraid to jump in wherever help is needed.

What You’ll Do

• Inspecting and parking trucks and trailers as they arrive
• Preparing sold and leased equipment for release to customers
• Moving trucks and trailers around the yard as needed
• Making sure leased trailers have current DOT documentation, tags, registration, and required paperwork
• Installing unit numbers, tags, GPS and Fleet Locate devices
• Inspecting trucks coming out of the shop and identifying items that need additional attention
• Inspecting new equipment upon arrival
• Assisting customers who visit the yard to inspect equipment
• Helping with tire inventory, tire sales, and other tire-related needs
• Performing minor repairs as needed
• Supporting equipment weighing and scaling when needed
• Completing required inspection and release documentation accurately
• Providing regular detail and tire inventory updates
• Communicating closely with the Yard Manager and other team members to keep equipment moving efficiently

What We’re Looking For

• Strong working knowledge of trucks and trailers
• A high school diploma or equivalent
• Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic
• Comfort using databases and accurately entering information
• Strong attention to detail, especially when inspecting and documenting equipment
• Good communication and problem-solving skills
• The ability to manage multiple priorities throughout the day
• A positive, high-energy approach to work
• The ability to work independently while also being a strong team player
• A willingness to identify better ways of doing things and suggest process improvements
