Job summary

Century 21 Stores is seeking a Visual Security Officer to deter theft, monitor entrances, and deliver strong customer service at our New York locations. The role focuses on safety, communications with the Loss Prevention Team, and maintaining a secure shopping environment.

Responsibilities include completing Loss Prevention training, reporting incidents, inspecting high-traffic areas, and standing for long periods.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Must own or be able to obtain a NYS Security license.
• No experience required.
• Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to communicate and share information with diverse groups.
• Flexible schedule including day, evening, weekends and holidays.

Job description

The Visual Security Officer primary responsibility is to deter theft, communicate suspicious activity to the Loss Prevention Department, maintain a safe business environment, and provide strong customer service. The Visual Security Officer is primarily stationed at customer entrances and monitors customer traffic entering and exiting the store. Performs other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions

• Successfully complete all Loss Prevention training requirements including and maintaining personal certifications as required by law
• Provide an exceptional customer experience by ensuring the customer is always the # 1 priority.
• Acknowledge Customers in a friendly and helpful manner upon Customer’s entry/exit into/out the store.
• Monitor high shortage areas including receiving as needed; may perform audit functions
• Use two-way communication devices to maintain contact with Store Loss Prevention Team to ensure store safety
• Prepare prompt and complete reports relative to all theft incidents, merchandise recoveries, accident investigations, audits, and other activities as assigned by the Loss Prevention Manager
• Have knowledge of and maintain strict compliance with the law and company policies concerning apprehensions, searches and seizures, and the preservation of evidence
• Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality

• Position requires prolonged periods of standing/walking around store or entrances.
• May occasionally involve reaching above eye level, stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
• Must be able to apprehend shoplifters.
• Ability to sustain long periods of time enclosed in surveillance areas.
• Frequently lift/move up to 30lbs.

Compensation

$18 - $20/hr
