Job summary

Ohio Valley Goodwill Industries in Cincinnati is seeking a Loss Prevention Specialist to support the Loss Prevention program across stores, facilities and operations. The role focuses on camera and security technology, risk assessments, audit adherence, incident response, and investigations to prevent theft, fraud, and safety incidents.

The specialist collaborates with the Loss Prevention Manager and business partners to identify risks, implement corrective actions, and strengthen security

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of the retail environment and operational processes.
• Knowledge of loss prevention processes, procedures, and programs.
• Working knowledge of investigation processes and fact-finding techniques.
• Knowledge of general safety and security practices applicable to a retail or multi-site environment.
• Strong computer skills and ability to learn and utilize technology-based security and reporting systems.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Sound judgment and decision-making ability.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.

• Willingness and ability to respond to urgent Loss Prevention matters outside normal business hours when required.

Responsibilities

• Camera, Security Technology & Systems: monitor cameras, identify outages, support AI-enabled tech, document installations and issues.
• Store Risk Assessments & Audits: conduct audits, review exception reports, identify risks, document findings, follow up to resolution.
• Investigations & Incident Response: conduct routine investigations, gather evidence, prepare documentation, coordinate with partners.
