Job summary

Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, CA, seeks an experienced Loss Prevention Manager to oversee security shifts and ensure proper operation of the resort’s security functions.

You will review reports, coordinate with departments, and maintain key control and surveillance measures while supervising Security personnel. A strong, professional demeanor is essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Security/Loss Prevention management experience in a hotel setting.
• High School Diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
• Exceptional people skills and strong communication abilities.
• Must be detail oriented and able to perform under stress; proficient with computers.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that all security functions are properly completed by the Security Department.
• Oversee safe and secure operation of the hotel, golf courses, and district area.
• Verify shift assignments and maintain coverage at all times.
• Discipline security personnel in coordination with the Director/Asst. Director.
• Review all security reports for accuracy and timeliness.
• Maintain good relationships with all hotel departments to ensure service.
• Report observed property deficiencies and safety hazards.
• Investigate incidents and document losses, thefts, accidents, and violence.
• Coordinate guest room surveillance with the Director/Asst. Director of Security.
• Maintain the key control program and investigate discrepancies.
• Ensure security equipment is clean and functional (uniforms, radios, cameras).
• Monitor lobby, dining, restrooms, garage, and room service areas for non-guests.

Loss Prevention Manager

Overview

The Loss Prevention Manager will ensure the routines and tasks of each Loss Prevention shift are properly completed in accordance with Omni standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensures that all Security personnel functions are being properly completed by the Security Department.
• Assist with and oversee the safe and secure operation of the Hotel, Golf Courses, and The District area of the Resort
• Ensures that shift personnel are properly assigned at all times.
• Responsible for disciplining Security personnel in conjunction with the Director/Assistant Director of Security.
• Reviews all reports completed by Security officers to ensure accuracy and timely submission.
• Maintains a good relationship with all departments within the hotel and ensures that efficient service is available at all times.
• Reports all observed hotel property deficiencies and safety hazards.
• Ensures that a thorough and complete investigation and report is made on incidents, (e.g., losses, thefts, and accidents and acts of violence) incurred by guests and associates.
• Responsible for coordinating guest room surveillance in conjunction with the Director/Assistant Director of Security.
• Ensures that all phases of the key control program are maintained, and any discrepancies noted are investigated thoroughly and reported to the Director/Assistant Director of Security.
• Ensures that all Security equipment (i.e., uniforms, walkie-talkies, cameras, etc.) is kept clean and in good working condition.
• Monitors all traffic in the lobby area and restaurant, restrooms, garage area, and room service area to control non-guest (i.e., drunks, prostitutes, vagrants, etc.)
• Reports all associates using unauthorized Hotel entrance/exits when reporting for work or leaving for the day to the Director of Security.
• Responsible for coordinating the hiring and termination of all Security personnel n conjunction with the Director/Assistant Director of Security.

Qualifications

• 2 plus years of previous Security/Loss Prevention Management experience in hotel setting
• High School Degree or Equivalent; Some College preferred
• Exceptional people skills preferred
• Must be detail oriented, have excellent communication skills, and the ability to perform professionally under high levels of stress.
• Computer skills required
