Job summary

Bank of Montreal is seeking a collections professional to review delinquent and high‑risk accounts, advise on payment strategies, and provide sales and service to customers or prospects. You will build trust, develop long‑term relationships, and expand wallet share while adhering to policies and procedures.

The role requires strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills, with collaboration across teams, and a focus on protecting the bank’s interests through effective loss mitigation

Qualifications

• Typically 3–5 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field or equivalent.
• Knowledge of Credit Qualifications and associated credit knowledge and skills.
• Knowledge of federal, state/provincial/local laws pertaining to Consumer Collections.
• Knowledge of BMO products and services.

Responsibilities

• Review delinquent, high-risk, or written-off accounts for possible collections opportunities.
• Advise customers on payment strategies and products that meet their objectives.
• Develop and maintain long-term, profitable relationships and expand share of wallet.
• Develop reports and dashboards to analyze collections data and performance.
• Escalate complex requests to managers and coordinate with operations partners.
