Job summary

Denver Public Schools seeks a Long-Term Substitute to teach and support students in a standard-based curriculum during an extended absence of the classroom teacher.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Education and a Colorado teaching license; applicants must reside in Colorado and meet physical demands of the position. Temporary contract through December 2026 with competitive compensation and total reward offerings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education required.
• Colorado teaching license or CDE Application Receipt within 90 days accepted.

• Permanent residency in Colorado preferred.

Responsibilities

• Counsels students to encourage and support student achievement.
• Monitors and enforces conduct and behavior per district policy.
• Observes, evaluates, and records student performance and health.
• Prepares lesson outlines and materials following curriculum guidelines.
• Communicates with parents/guardians and staff to address student needs.
