• Collaborate with school personnel, parents and various community agencies for the purpose of improving the quality of student outcomes, developing solutions and planning curriculum.
• Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
• Promote equity and appreciation of diversity.
• Maintain classroom management.
• Promote high standards and expectations for student achievement.
• Plan and deliver effective instruction.
• Teaches reading, language arts, social studies, and and mathematics to students, utilizing the district’s course of study and other appropriate learning activities.
• Instructs students in citizenship and basic subject matter.
• Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and provides individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student.
• Uses a variety of instruction strategies, such as inquiry, group discussion, lecture, and discovery.
• Translates lesson plans into learning experiences so as to best utilize the available time for instruction.
• Identifies student needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in.
• Assess and helping students solve health, attitude, and learning problems.
• Creates an effective environment for learning through functional and attractive displays, bulletin boards, and interest centers.
• Selects and requisitions books and instructional aids appropriate for grade level.
• Administers group standardized tests in accordance with district and state testing program.
• Participates in curriculum development programs as required.

Job Description

The Grade 3 Long Term Substitute Teacher will facilitate student success in academic and interpersonal skills through academic courses of study and implement district approved curriculum, documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific needs of students; providing a safe and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations and goals.

The dates of the Long Term Sub Grade 3 Teacher position will be approximately 10/26/26 - 02/05/27

The ideal candidate will:

Execute the subject matter knowledge requirements specific for Elementary Teachers, including:

Perform other duties as deemed appropriate by the Building Principal

The Long Term Substitute Teacher Rate is: $250.00 per day for Days 1-20; $307 per day for Days 21+
