Position:

Elementary Special Education Teacher

Requirements:

• --Michigan teaching certificate in Learning Disabilities (SM); Cognitive --Impairment (SA); or Emotional Impairment (SE)
• --Must meet Highly Qualified status
• --Willingness to support students in a resource lab setting
• --Willingness to support students in a self-contained setting

Preferences:

• --Knowledge or the ability to utilize technology to instructional structure
• --Ability to work with a diverse racial and cultural student population
• --Understanding of current instructional strategies, including DifferentiatedInstruction, MTSS, along with providing accommodations and modifications to the general education curriculum.
• --Knowledge of data disaggregation and application to targeted assistancefor general education students.
• --Knowledge of RTI and supporting interventions.
• --Experience with the IEP process is highly desirable.
• --Demonstrated competence as an educator.
• --Familiar with providing direct explicit instruction in deficit areas.
• --Strong interpersonal skills, highly motivated, action-orientated.
• --Works well in a collaborative environment.
• --Background or certification in Math
