Qualifications

Position Overview

Ipswich Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and collaborative Long-Term Substitute Special Education Teacher for the Paul F. Doyon Memorial School (PK-5).

Key Responsibilities

Provide specialized instruction and support to students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in accordance with Massachusetts DESE regulations and IDEA.

Deliver services in inclusive, co-teaching, small-group, and/or individual settings as outlined in student IEPs.

Collaborate closely with general education teachers, related service providers, paraeducators, and families to support student progress.

Implement evidence-based instructional strategies, accommodations, and modifications.

Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals; participate in team meetings and IEP development as appropriate.

Maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports the social-emotional and academic needs of all learners.

Fulfill all duties of a classroom/special education teacher, including lesson planning, assessment, communication with families, and professional responsibilities.

Qualifications

Valid Massachusetts teaching license (or eligibility) in Elementary Moderate Disabilities (PreK-5) other appropriate special education licenses considered.

Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.

Experience working with elementary-aged students with diverse learning needs preferred.

Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills.
