Job Description

A long-term substitute special education teacher will fill in for the regular special education teacher for an extended period. This position requires working with students who have diverse learning needs, ensuring they receive appropriate instruction, accommodations, and support.

The Spencer-East Brookfield Regional School District is searching for a long-term Substitute Special Education Teacher. The Long-Term Substitute Special Education Teacher is responsible for providing specialized instruction to students with disabilities during the absence of the regular special education teacher. This role involves implementing individualized education plans (IEPs), delivering adapted lessons, collaborating with general education teachers, and ensuring a supportive, inclusive classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver instruction that aligns with students’ Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and ensures accommodations and modifications are in place.
• Assess student needs, progress, and performance to ensure educational goals are being met.
• Implement lesson plans provided by the regular teacher or design new plans tailored to students’ abilities, learning styles, and IEP objectives.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to co-teach or modify curriculum for inclusion settings.
• Support students with disabilities in academic, social, and emotional development.

Bachelor's degree and previous teaching experience preferred

Salary: $125 to $200 Per Day
