Sylvania in Orange, VA is seeking a Long Term Substitute Teacher for our Special Education program at Orange Elementary. The ideal candidate will work with teachers, staff, and families to ensure high-quality education during the regular teacher’s absence.

The role involves implementing IEPs, delivering instruction across subjects, monitoring progress, and maintaining a positive classroom environment while partnering with families and teams to support student success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field.
• Valid teaching certification or licensure in Special Education preferred.
• Experience working with students with special needs is desirable.
• Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to collaborate with diverse group of students, staff, and families.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping students succeed.
• Flexibility and adaptability in responding to dynamic classroom needs.

Responsabilités

• Implement IEPs for students, ensuring accommodations are met.
