Job summary

Sylvania is looking for a Long Term Special Education Substitute / High School Special Education Teacher to provide individualized education and support to students with diverse learning needs in Westbrook, Connecticut. The role will involve collaborating with parents and professionals to create tailored IEPs and delivering specially designed instruction.

The ideal candidate will hold a valid Connecticut certification in special education and possess strong communication and organizational skills, with experience working with students of diverse needs preferred.

Qualifications

• Valid Connecticut certification in special education (065, 165, or 265).
• Experience in a school setting desired.
• Experience working with students of diverse learning needs is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate to create tailored IEPs reflecting student needs.
• Deliver specially designed instruction using research-based strategies.
• Regularly assess student progress towards IEP goals.
