Qualifications

• Maintain Valid Massachusetts DESE teacher certification appropriate for the grade level and subject area.
• Highly Qualified as per Massachusetts DESE.
• Proven ability to relate to a variety of constituencies including administrators, parents/guardians, teachers, students, and staff.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• Well-organized with excellent leadership abilities.
• Exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills.
• Working knowledge of relevant technologies: internet and email systems; word processing, presentation, and spreadsheet software; and educational software.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences for all learners.
• Develop lesson plans aligned with state standards and district curricula; be culturally and linguistically responsive.
• Establish clear objectives for all learning activities.
• Engage in reflective practice regarding curricula, instruction, and culturally responsive practices.
• Create a culturally and linguistically responsive classroom environment.
• Build strong relationships with students to foster belonging.
• Prepare classroom for class activities and adapt resources as needed.
• Use data to drive decisions and differentiate instruction and assessments.
• Instruct and monitor students using district-approved curriculum and standards.
• Utilize relevant technology to support instruction.
• Follow individual education plans and health/behavior plans as applicable.
• Observe and evaluate student progress and adjust plans accordingly.
• Provide timely feedback on assessments and work; monitor progress.
