Job summary

Westminster Lakeland is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide direct nursing care in the Health Center in Lakeland, FL. The RN will supervise day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants, ensuring care is delivered in compliance with state and federal standards.

The schedule is Full-Time 7AM-3PM, with every other weekend and some holidays required. The role includes admissions, care planning, and collaboration with physicians to maintain resident well-being.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed as an RN in Florida and CPR certified.
• One year of long-term care experience desirable; Med-Surg/Home Health experience helpful.
• On-the-job training available for relevant gaps.

Responsibilities

• Manage admissions and discharges on the day shift.
• Review day case load with the Med nurse and assign responsibilities.
• Verify admissions from the prior day and complete checklists.
• Document daily skilled care for Med A residents; verify accuracy.
• Notify MD/NP with issues; review labs and x-rays.
• Perform skin and Braden inspections per schedule.
• Assist nurses with med dispensing and emergencies as needed.
• Document incidents and update care plans with new interventions.
• Coordinate pharmacy deliveries and resolve med issues.
• Attend meetings; participate on weekends as required.
• Support staffing with evening shift call-offs; ensure assignments.
• Monitor staffing and verify day staff arrivals.
• Review evening shift staffing and manage AHT; use EMAR/ETAR.
